Platinum provides a Primary and Occupational Health Care Centre in its branches in Bellville and Cape Town in the Western Cape. The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner is a full time employee and is supervised by an Occupational Medical Practitioner.

Each Platinum staff member has the benefit to see the Occupational Nurse and Medical Practitioner to receive primary medication treatment.

The main objectives of initiating the Primary and Occupational Health Care Centre are:

• To minimize the risk of injuries and ill health and to maintain a healthy working environment;
• To provide an efficient, caring and confidential service to employees so that Platinum staff are fit to carry out his/her work duties effectively;
• To ensure that employees take care of their personal health and safety, and that of their colleagues in the work environment.

The Primary and Occupational Health Care Centre provides the following services to Platinum Employees:

• Health and Hygiene Information;
• Medical Treatment/Surveillance;
• Routine medical Check-Ups;
• Counseling Services: Health, Alcohol/Drug Abuse;
• Screening for Disease Pathology;
• Occupational Health and Safety Management Services;
• Reproductive Health Advice Including Family Planning;
• Health Promotion;
• HIV/AIDS Management;
• Assessment of Food Handlers
